Lahore Fort, Fort Road, Lahore, Pakistan
Walled City of Lahore Authority brings an interesting interactive session for the professionals and students.
“Meet the Expert in Conservation Conversation”
The interactive session is about one of the key projects of Walled City of Lahore Authority “The conservation of Royal Kitchen inside Lahore Fort”.
This place was a no go area since independence, with waist high shrubs and the structure collapsing. WCLA in 2016 took up the conservation of this majestic site and started the documentation followed by the conservation.
Taking this as an opportunity for selected faculties, WCLA has launched a fortnightly academic session ‘Meet the Expert’. In this session the experts of Archeology, Conservation, History and other faculties will meet the students and show them the on ground works along with a briefing and Q&A session.
The session will provide a platform for informal dialogue and discussion between experts and aspiring professionals. During these sessions subject matter experts will present their views, research techniques and accomplishments in a personal context that will offer participants a behind the scenes look at factors influencing their work. The participants will be able to have first-hand knowledge of this site, history and conservation.
